COURSE DESCRIPTION
“Emotional Intelligence” explores the third part of a successful leader – Emotional Capability.
This course utilizes a short, online survey to help you determine your EI scores for the four aspects of Emotional Intelligence:
- Self-Awareness
- Self-Management
- Social Awareness
- Relationship Management
Daniel Goleman, a leader in this field, has identified that successful managers and leaders possess a high percentage of emotional intelligence
- Achieved better financial results,
- Developed more effective and supportive organizational climates or culture and
- Achieved higher productivity gains with their workforce.
EI contributes 80% to 90% of the competencies that distinguish outstanding leaders from average leaders. In class case studies are used to help people see EI issues in themselves and others. This workshop is interactive, including small group exercises, large group discussions, and instructor facilitation.

After completing this course, you’ll know:
- What Emotional Intelligence is and how it differs from technical skills and IQ.
- The specific aspects of the four areas of Emotional Intelligence and how you can personally improve on each of them.
- How to become an Emotionally Intelligent organization.
- How to use personal reflection to change your own Emotional Intelligence and improve your life on both a professional and personal level.
The course is interactive, including small group exercises, large group discussions, and instructor facilitation. Personal reflection time and small group, confidential discussions are used to help people move through the process
